YOTWC
is the newest, cutting edge of singer songwriter performance teams.
Originating in New York in 1991, YOTWC was immediately recognized for
its uniqueness and originality. Proven motivators of crowds, YOTWC received
a standing encore at Nobody's in Queens at their first performance AS
A DUO, AND THEN WAS BANISHED FROM VIRTUALLY EVERY CLUB THEY PERFORMED
AT THE TIME. With husband and wife team, Len and Caroline Lauro at its
core, YOTWC has continued its tradition through years of enticing and
intriguing people through Len's lyrics and with the delivery of those lyrics by
lead singer Caroline. YOTWC lures people into their web with aesthetically
pleasing, often beautifully melodic music that is pleasing to the ear
and addicting to the soul. This sharpness of wit and willingness to
say exactly what they believe helped earn YOTWC the distinction of being
one of 3 bands ever to be banned from CBGB's, the ex NYC nightclub known
for its alternative nature (an honor which they share with the late
G.G. Allen and Missing Foundations).
This
hostile banishment sent YOTWC in exile to the renowned ABC No Rio ("If
you want to do that kind of thing go to ABC!") where they were welcomed
royally by punks and drunks alike in the true underground NYC scene.
Seeking
world dominance, indicative of any band worthy of greatness, YOTWC driven
by an uncontainable social message and a musical dream shaped by a strong
, aggressive rhytm, Len's years of classical, rock and music theory
and Carolines inherent propensity for hostility, having grown up in
New York and drawing heavily from 70's punk scene, invaded SF Bay area
in 1996. This led YOTWC to immediately put down on digital tape their
first album entitled "Children of the Next Century" a collection
of 10 songs composed during their tenure in NYC.
With
college radio success, as well as connections to the underground, alternative,
and intellectual scenes, and with artistic, as well as commercial
aspirations,
YOTWC will continue to entertain and inspire. In other words YOTWC rocks!

Caroline
Lorre. Born March 15th,1963 in New York City - grew up in Queens,
with little formal education, stands proudly as lead singer and
front person for YEAR OF THE WILD CAT. Married Len Lauro, current
bassist and writer for YOTWC in February,1990 and immediately co-started
YEAR OF THE WILD CAT formerly known as PROBLEM. Moved with Lauro

Problem.
Lorre
and Lauro divorced in 2003 but continued a strong personal and
professional relationship - pushing their common passion - the
band, whose name was then changed to its current - YEAR OF THE
WILD CAT.
Great
granddaughter of the late George M. Cohan, famous vaudeville personality
from the early 1900's, who was played by James Cagney in
the movie 'Yankee Doodle Dandy', Lorre strongly exhibits
her genetic background with a natural talent for performance.
Quite at home on stage, Lorre claims she is most deeply influenced
by: King Henry VIII of England, Mary Queen of Scots, Joan of Arc,
James Dean, John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Napoleon Bonaparte, Patty
Smith, Deborah Harry, Stevie Nicks, Pat Benatar, and she cares
about Courtney.
Caroline Lorre packs a deadly delivery of performance into her
4'11" 88lb. frame, making her the unique package worthy of
fronting YEAR OF THE WILD CAT.
